The most recent Pentagon defence policy, which was unveiled on Thursday, made mention of China's expanding space capabilities.
The plan said that the PLA is "rapidly upgrading and integrating its space
counterspace, cyber, electronic, and informational warfare capabilities in addition to expanding its conventional forces
To complement its comprehensive approach to joint combat."
The self-governing island of Taiwan, which Beijing has threatened to take with force
is one of many issues that divide the U.S. and China. U.S.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in September, and in retaliation
China launched missiles over the island, conducted war exercises, and staged a mock blockade.
