Russian rapper Walkie commits suicide, after being drafted for Ukraine war

Russia has been waging a war in Ukraine for about eight months at this point. However, many feel that President Vladimir Putin is having difficulties and that Ukraine is beginning to cause Russia greater problems.

As a result, Russia recently began a massive mobilisation that included the recruitment of nearly 300,000 soldiers. But many of them, including a local rapper, are staunchly opposed to the war. This is Walkie, real name Ivan Vitalievich Petunin.

According to The Sun, Walkie just committed suicide because he was so opposed to the conflict in Ukraine. Prior to his death, he said in a video that he would rather to be dead than take another man’s life. In the city of Krasnodar, his corpse was discovered next to a tall structure. Along with this catastrophe, Walkie had earlier enrolled in a mental institution in order to escape joining the Russian army.

The Russian rapper Ivan Petunin has committed suicide.

He recorded a message to his fans about mobilization.

He said he refuses to murder another man.

“If you are watching this video, then I am no longer alive. I can’t take the sin of murder on my soul and I don’t want to. I am not ready to kill for any ideals. I choose to remain in history forever. As a man who did not support what was happening. I am not ready to take up arms and kill my own kind.”
